Penshurst Place is one of England's best-preserved medieval houses, set in 11 acres of formal walled gardens. Owned by the Sidney family since 1552 and once used by Henry VIII as a hunting lodge. The gardens are divided into 'rooms' and there's a toy museum, an armoury and a maze.
